Sheraton Dallas

400 Olive Street, Dallas TX 75201.  map

Hotel Rates are $105 with up to 4 in a room. Call 888-627-8191 or 214-922-8000 and Mention Texas Chess Association to get rate. Reserve by 2/4/10 or rate may go up (traditionally the Adams Mark would just keep taking reservations. I am not sure what the Sheraton Dallas will do).  Note that Sheraton Dallas is running low on Double/Doubles.  If you get a single please reserve a roll a way bed. Note that Double/Double may become available Monday 2/1/10.  Also rooms for Sunday 2/21/10 are becoming scarce.

7 round Swiss System (No Elimination).

Entry Fee is $39 by 2/11 else $69.

This tournament will use February Supplement.

Open to Texas Residents and school. Must be in K - 5/6 grades to play. Participants cannot play up, if you are a 6th grader in an Elementary School (no 7th grade) or a 6th grader in an intermediate school (no 7th grade) then you must play in this section. Home schooled 6th graders and private school 6th graders must play in middle school.

(Note that TCA has ruled that private school 6th graders in a K-6th private school may play in Elementary.  A good rule of thumb is that if you are in 6th grade and your school has a 7th grade, then you should play in Middle School. If you are in public school and in  6th grade and your school has no 7th grade, then you must play in one of the Elementary sections. K-3 graders may play in one of the primary sections or may play in one of the Elementary sections.)

Three Sections: Championship, J V and Novice. The  J V section is opened to players rated Under 800 in February Supplement. The novice is opened to players rated Under 500.
